When we were in Sweden two years ago (what, TWO YEARS?!), I saw a lot of these little Fjällräven backpacks in stores. I really liked them - maybe it was the versatility or just knowing it was an iconic Swedish brand? But I resisted buying one because I opted for my ceramics instead - however, I didn't stop thinking about the cute little pack. (And seriously, I don't know why, it's just a backpack!) But then a few months after coming home, these backpacks started cropping up everywhere! On blogs, JCrew, and more!
What do you think? Do you like this pack?

I covet
It's been awhile since I've posted an "I Covet," but ever since I pinned this little flowery number, I can't stop thinking about how adorable it is. Wouldn't you have to agree? Maybe with these shoes? Yep, love it.

Wouldn't this just look perfect in our dining room? It fits the period of our home. It's not to gaudy, yet still has a classic look. And it sparkles. What girl doesn't like a little sparkle?

A couple years ago, I fell in love with this map of the world. Turns out, the same people have created a Seattle neighborhood map. It's like the Ork City maps that I see everywhere, but a little more unique and it uses some of my favorite colors.
What do you think - do you like this version or the other version better? I know I have a favorite.
P.S. I got the Portland map for my sister for Christmas a couple years ago.

The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee
I discovered one of the best blogs ever: The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee. The brilliant brains behind the blog is the Pierce County Humane Society - they are basically making kittens looks so adorable that you have to adopt one. Or three? These little cuties are up for adoption right now, Cecil, Sylvie and Wiley. They have certainly stolen my heart. As one post says, their life mission is to be loved by you. (Well, me in this case because I want to take them all home!)
Which little bugger would you want to take home?

Don't you love this print? The best things in life are most definitely people. (Well, and wine and cheese!)

These babies need little explaining. Who would have thought that light teal, patent loafers would make such an impression? But I have to keep my eye on the prize: save for a house.

After testing out my uber-cheap crossbody bag for a couple months, I've realized that I really like this style, but it's much too small. Yet my other bag feels like a suitcase! So I'm on a quest to find a medium-sized crossbody bag. Call me picky, but I'm finding this to be a much harder quest than expected. I keep coming back to this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, but I'm not ready to take the leap with such a hefty price tag. Do you have any ideas of where I can find the perfect bag?

Hello 1980s
Just add a scrunchie and acid wash jeans and you'll find yourself in another decade! Alternatively, you can pair this bright top with some chic black ankle pants, a lovely necklace and black flats, and you're instantly back in 2011. What do you think - would you try rocking this?

Bath Style
I'm totally smitten with these simple, striped, traditional Turkish towels from the etsy shop, Bath Style. Apparently they are thin, but highly absorbent. Sounds like a bonus for someone who has minimal space for linens! The colors range from soft neutrals to vibrant colors. If you were to pick one out, which one would you get? I think I'd opt for a neutral shade of some sort that can easily adapt to any bathroom decor. Maybe this one or this one? Or the one up top. Man, I'm bad with decisions.

Small Details
Aren't people masterful in their home details? From homemade coffee tables or gorgeous herringbone wood floors to built-in wine racks or a sliding antique door. Consider these ideas saved for my future home. But if I could only pick one, it'd be the herringbone floors. I wouldn't let anyone actually walk on them, but that's beside the point. Which detail is your fave?

Hasbeens were at the top of my list of things to bring home from Sweden. I was ready for the splurge - I mean, the trip was already a splurge, so what harm would a pair of authentic clogs be? Shoot, I had been getting some use of my grandma's hand-me-downs, so I knew these would have a place in my wardrobe. On our trip, we asked a few of my relatives where we might find them, but apparently they aren't as hot of an item over yonder than they are here. And maybe they aren't even that cool here, but I still love them.So on our last day, Joe and I went on a Hasbeen hunt! (It was his idea too; I guess I'll keep him after all) We looked online at all of the places in Malmö that carried them and plotted our drive to a few shops. But it was Sunday and like most European shops, they were all closed. In defeat, I splurged on Swedish ceramics instead. Don't get me wrong, I love my ceramic teapot and bowl (which I'll eventually show you), but I'm still longing for Hasbeens.
Similar to my Hunter Boot longing, I'll probably cave

This skirt with a wide belt, these shoes in Cognac, and a simple white t-shirt. Can it get any cuter than that? And let me just say, after trying on this skirt, I know firsthand that it has that magical "I-feel-like-a-little-girl-who-likes-spinning-in-her-skirt" effect. I found myself spinning back and forth, and back and forth in the dressing room. Then the saleswoman knocked on the door out of concern since I had been spinning for 3 straight hours. (Ok, not really. But like three straight minutes!) It's just lovely. Ok, Anthro, send me my birthday discount coupon early, por favor?

Exposure
I really like the simple, clean look of exposed beams, especially coupled with warm neutrals. They make me want to cozy up and go to a ski lodge. White couches, on the other hand? Not so much. I would be too afraid of sitting on them. I'll go with a color that would better mask the accidental red wine spill or new denim blue marks (anyone else ever stain even a purse blue from new jeans?).
Do you like exposed beams? Which room do you like best?

Sources: I honestly don't know where I found the first two, so please don't sue me. I just like to save pretty pictures to reference for my future home. The last one is Emily's home from Cupcakes and Cashmere. Thursday, July 28, 2011
I covet

This dress makes me reconsider my wants vs. needs. Do I want it? Absolutely. Do I need it? Not sure if I can survive without it. Well, that might be taking it too far, but I do think it's stunning. Throw on a pair of Jackie O glasses, pearls and a bright-colored pair of pumps, and you can pretty much take over the world, right?
