- We roasted an entire, full grown pig. (It wasn't Wilbur, I promise!) Thanks to Chef Leif for doing the honors!
- Drank a few beers, some in the namesake of the Double Take!
- Some sailed, some windsurfed and a few wakeboarded.
- Many of us floated on our trusty friend, the Inflation Station.
- Then we all cozied up around a bonfire until our eyelids became heavy.

Signs of Summer
A sampling of the many signs of summer this weekend. And this is just the beginning! With that, here is the start of my summer to-do list:- Plant some flowers.
- Rock a Duck Dodge. (Eh, Autumn and Ryan?)
- Rock the Rock n' Roll half marathon.
- Soak up some Hawaiian sun (with sunscreen!)
- A trip to Greenlake Pitch n' Putt.
- Enjoy dinner and a sunset on the deck at home with my folks.
- Dance the night away at a few weddings!
- Hit up an outdoor movie.
- Perhaps a little more wine tasting somewhere fun? Yes, I think so.
- Make delicious homemade popsicles.

Boats, boats, boats
I like boats. So when I got a last minute email from Autumn to meet her down the street to take out Ryan's company boat a few weeks ago, I was all smiles. We slowly motored around, from South Lake Union to Ballard, enjoying the late Summer sun, wine, grapes, cheetos (keeping it classy... and healthy) and eventually docked up at Fisherman's Terminal for dinner. I'm a big fan of unexpected adventures, especially when they involve soaking up the verrrry last bit of summer, so this fun, little outing was a delight. Eventually I'll accept that we've reached Fall, but looking through these pictures again make me want to go back in time! Summer 2012, I'm expecting big things. Fall 2011, I'm ready, let's do this.

Summer BBQ Picnic
I've told you time and time again, how much I love me some picnics! So when there was talk about a Friday evening picnic last week, I was all over that. Bring on the grilling, sun, fun people and Straube's amazing peach cobbler shortbread bars! Of course, we also had a special guest appearance from Zeke, who could not get enough of the local wildlife (read: squirrels). It was a delightful picnic that lasted until dark because we didn't want it to end. Let's do this more often, kapish?

Let the picnics begin!
Back to last night. We had a few friendly faces stop by during their runs - both Stephanie and James. Yes, that's right - believe it or not, Stephanie was running. (Maybe one day I'll convince her to go on a run with me?) That's what I love about Green Lake; you almost always see someone you know.
Where's your favorite place to picnic?
(P.S. The picnic basket up top is the one I snazzied up!)

A new season
A couple weekends ago, we went snowshoeing at Snoqualmie Pass, probably for the last time this season. At the time, I was a little disappointed that the snowflakes were damp (not fluffy) and the temperature wasn't near as cold as it's been on past snowshoeing adventures. But then I got to thinking, this means that Spring is closer. I am happy to give up winter and all the snowy adventures it brings, to be able to wear fun sun dresses, retire my winter coat and actually leave work when it's light out.As I've gotten older, I've realized that I am not the same winter-lovin' gal that I once was. I like me some sun (with sunscreen) and summer, filled with Chelanigans, weddings, and picnics.
What's your fave season?

Dreaming of summer
As I look outside my office window, I can't help but get excited for summer and all of the fun it brings! The sun is out in full force today and there are several sailboats floating aimlessly on the lake. What I would give to be laying out on one of them right now...(Polaroid from Chelanigans 2K10)

What time is it? Dubs time.
Dubs, the husky mascot, leads a good life. Look how much he's grown!
This commercial promoting Husky football is a little bittersweet. Bitter because it means summer is almost over, but sweet because the huskies are going to dominate this year. That's right, you heard me.
(I talk a big game. I actually only go to one football game a year, but it's kind of fun to have school pride, right?)

End of summer to-do list
It's sad that we're nearing the end of summer, so in the name of sun, popsicles, outdoor picnics and boating, I have compiled a list of things I have to do before summer ends.
- Outdoor movie, perhaps at Redhook?
- More Yahtzee picnics at Greenlake
- Go out on a boat at least one more time. Maybe a Duffy boat on Lake Union?
- Happy hour on the deck at Maximilien
- A traditional BBQ on a deck
- Vacation :)
- A nice, long bike ride
- Greenlake Pitch n' Putt
Anything special on your summer to-do list? Or any idea of things I should add?!
