Pumpkin Patch 2.0

After a successful first pumpkin patch trip this year, my second trip was equally as fun. This time, we headed north to Stocker Farms - our go-to pumpkin patch. After scouting out the right pumpkin for our doorsteps, we headed to Erin's place for some good grub and vino. We stayed until our eyes couldn't stay open, which I think is a sign of a good night :) Once again, thanks for hosting, Erin!

Autumn holding a pumpkin.

Also striking a pose with an orangie.

What can I say? It's what we do best.
I'd be lying if I didn't admit this guy was heavy.

Lesson learned: buns make you taller!

The thing I love about ghords the most: they are seasonal through Thanksgiving!

A Birthday Jig

It all started with Autumn and I rocking out to the beats on New Year's Eve. (Please excuse both of our awesome faces.)

Joe soon joined and as you can see, I got excited.

We danced. Not well, I will admit. Just silly dancing. But maybe you could already tell?

One thing led to another and soon enough I bumped my head on his knee. (Or least I think it was his knee?)

We laughed.

He gave me a "aww, it's ok" hug.

Then I can't remember what he said to me, but I remember it being really, really funny.

What I'm trying to get to in the most roundabout way is that I love dancing with this man through life. We always come out of any situation smiling and laughing together. And I can't wait to dance away another year. Happy Birthday, Joe!

P.S. Thank to Stephers again for capturing our crazy dancing skills!

A Fall Outing

In honor of Kimbie's visit to Seattle, we had to plan a little Fall outing - so we opted to jump on a ferry to Bainbridge Island to have a kick-back lunch and aimlessly stroll the downtown. It's becoming a tradition and if you know us well, we love our traditions. (Our first year and second year to Bainbridge!) It's really just a good excuse to escape the city, catch up and enjoy each other's company and that's exactly what we did.

P.S. The "Move Home" Campaign is not doing so well...

Bavarian Bliss

By now, you should be well aware of my love for Leavenworth. Any town that combines great weather for every season, good beer, fun festivals, taffy shops, wine tasting, German pretzels and an overall kitschy tourism feel - is a fabulous town in my book. To kick off the fall season and say goodbye to summer, the girls adventured east for a day trip to our favorite Bavarian getaway - consisting of an authentic German lunch, wine tasting, store hopping, ice cream eating, riverside walking and more.

I think another winter trip to Leavenworth is in order. Who's with me?

Hawaiian Beaches

Maui is known for their beautiful, giant beaches. So it goes without saying that we spent the majority of our trip at a beach. Changing it up from day to day - Big Beach, a lava rock beach, a quiet beach and a windy beach.

In essence, we'd sit on the beach and read. The eyes would get heavy, so we'd nap. Get too hot, so go take a dip in the water. Get beat up by the crazy waves. Reapply sunscreen. Maybe drink a Hawaiian juice. Eat our homemade PB&J's. Relax. Boogie board, paddleboard, surf (I got up 3 times!). Reapply sunscreen again. Then more relaxing. I would occasionally try to find the shade because heat and I don't always agree.

Sigh, oh Hawaii, I love you. And I miss you dearly.

 Ryan surfing!

The Vic-Maui

Before I get into the details of our much-needed tropical getaway, let me first tell you about what brought us to Maui. The Vic-Maui: a sailing race from Victoria, BC across the deep, blue ocean to Maui. Maddie, Autumn, Joe and I met RyRy and the rest of the crew of the Double Take (the sailboat) at the finish line. And guess what?! Double Take won first place, finishing in 10.5 days! Let me tell you, Maui loves the Vic-Maui - race updates were taking over the local radio stations and the sailors were celebrities! Needless to say, we had a blast celebrating with the whole crew throughout the trip, which may have involved one or twelve Mai Tai's :)

Congrats to RyRy, Tom, Brad, Tim, Nat, John, Max and Jay!

And thanks to RyRy and Autumn for inviting us!

 Isn't it a beautiful boat?!

Dash & Dine

To make running a little more fun, Maddie, Autumn and I sometimes plan something fun after a run - it makes us look forward to it a bit more. Last night, we decided to dash and dine. Go for a quick run along Lake Union, then warm up with some tomato soup and a sammie.

So if a runner's high isn't enough for you, you should try a turkey and prosciutto sandwich with white cheddar, arugula and lemon mayo. I guarantee you'll want to go running every night.

Thanks for dinner, Mads!

An oldie, but goodie

I realize it's no where near Christmas, but I can't wait a whole 9 months to share this college gem that I recently came across. I have eluded to the infamous creepy caroler at least fives times before, but I'm sure you can't get enough. I know I can't. In fact, creepy caroler is in my storage unit right now. I'm already planning my next attack.

Things to note in this picture:
  • Creepy caroler brings out the best (read: crazy) in us
  • Sweatpants/Pajama pants - this was our typical attire for about 90% of our college career
  • I still have that race shirt that Autumn is wearing - it's one of my faves
  • It's not a sorority room without cheesy decorations like a paddle and stuffed owl

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.

Zebra Stripes

There once was this girl named Autumn. She was an adventurous soul. So for high school graduation, her dad decided to take her on a safari in Africa. Since her father was an avid hunter with deer and elk mounts covering the walls of their home (which stare you down when sleeping at their home!), their safari was a bit different than some - they carried guns.

For everyone's sake, let's fast forward a bit. Autumn's prized zebra rug! It's style, accomplishment and pure awesome all-in-one. And after a little searching, I'm sold on the versatility. Don't you agree? (I like the first picture best!) Well, I guess I gotta go on an African safari now! Or I suppose I could go the easier route and buy this one? Nah, safari wins. Who wants to come?

Pub Squat

This weekend we attempted to go on a pub crawl through Fremont, but it turned into more of a pub squat. Several hours at 9 Million and then a few more at Norm's. We blame the weather - SNOW! - for not wanting to move from our warm, cozy booths.

Keeping with tradition, Autumn stole my camera (or iPhone) to document the evening. She discovered a great new use of the photobooth app - start rolling the camera and aim it at everyone around the table. Most people had no idea what the heck she was doing, but I caught on quick - hence, the cheesy smile. (Must remember this for future gatherings!)

But one my my favorite discoveries is the photo strip of Autumn... and Autumn alone. LOVE it.

More to come on the pub squat!

A night out on the town

What do you do when two out-of-town girlfriends come to visit? Well, you plan a happy hour, of course. Then happy hour inevitably turns into getting another drink elsewhere, which turns into dinner at Serious Pie, which turns into hanging out at Steph's until the wee hours of the night. What can I say? There was a lot of ground to cover. Love you girls!

How do you entertain 3 ladies on a Saturday night?

The iPad Incredibooth app. Let's just say there are more where these came from. Happy Halloween, friends! Costumes pictures to come, but I will tell you this: my costume is the most comfortable costume in history.
