Tiny Dancers

As I mentioned before, Olita's little nephew, Aiden, is absolutely adorable. I had the privilege of watching the little man and his sidekick entertain the crowd for hours on end. Early in the evening, he was a smidgen shy, but then something must have gotten into him and I'd wager a bet that it was the delicious cake - sugar highs are powerful!

(P.S. It's a little dark, but still awesome!)

Yellow and Gray

They are the wedding colors of 2011: Yellow and Gray. (If you remember, Autumn also chose the same colors.) But honestly, I completely understand why - the color combo looks so chic and romantic, but still fun and fresh.

My pictures don't do Olita's wedding decorations justice, but needless to say, they were simply gorgeous. The darling cake arrangment, candlelit room, homemade limoncello favors, table placards and even the table assignments board - where you take down your name strung from a rope and replace it with a fun mini-polaroid, all on top of one of their engagement photos! Brilliant, right? Bring it all together and you have yourself a lovely wedding.

Virtual high five, Olita! (Because you're still on your honeymoon, but for the record, I'm having major withdrawls.)

Happily Ever After

I remember Olita saying if there was only one thing her guests would remember as they leave her wedding, it would be: "Wow, they are just so in love." Well, I have good news, Olita - the two of you looked like you were sooo madly in love. A true happily ever after.

But I have even more good news - I also left thinking that was AN AMAZING WEDDING. It goes beyond the decorations and food (decorations post to come!), but the crazy fun we all had together. I guess it's easy to celebrate when you're celebrating two fabulous people. Congrats!

Steve looked like he was on Cloud 9 when Olita walked down the aisle.

Once again, my fella was the best darn date ever.

The GMMB cast and crew (minus Susie and Megan!). We knew how to boogie.

I wanted to put this little man in my pocket and take him home; he was so adorable! This tiny couple liked to entertain us all with their break dancing moves!

The Future Mrs. Olita Terry

All the brides on stage, waiting to be embarrassed by "Mama"

A few weekends ago, I had the lucky opportunity to celebrate the future Mrs. Olita Terry for her bachelorette party. The night involved a scrumptious dinner at Tavolata, a drag show at Julia's on Broadway (yes, my second drag show of the year), dancing at R Place and then a slumber party at the Sheraton. In the morning, we all went to Macrina Bakery for coffee and baked goods, but most importantly to rehash the evening's festivities. Because isn't that often times the most entertaining part of the bachelorette party?

It was such a fun night and perhaps a preview of the fun to come in 11 short days! (Eek, Olita!) I can't wait to watch you marry the man you love. You're going to be such a stunning bride!

(P.S. I failed to take a lot of photos during the evening, but did capture a few!)

Matt's in the Market

Last week, Kathryn, Meredith, Olita and I had the rare opportunity to hang out together. With Kathryn now in New York, Meredith moving from Philly to San Fran and Olita and I holding down the fort in Seattle - these kind of get togethers are few and far between. (It's very, very unfortunate!)

We decided to go somewhere that would be considered "very Seattle" for our relocated friends. How much more Seattle can you get than Matt's in the Market, seated right in front of the Pike Place Market sign? We just ordered wine, cheese and salads, but it was all very delicious. The ambiance there is so lovely. Then we ended our night with the one and only, Molly Moon's. Nothing beats their salted caramel ice cream!

I look forward to the next time we can all share stories and a bottle of wine!

The view from our table. Not too shabby, eh?

TG(iPhone)F

Erika and Einstein at Steve's Birthday Party Don't judge the quality, it was dark out :)

One day I asked Joe if I could get my hands on some of his iPhone photos because he actually takes quite a few. Then a few days later, a folder on my desktop magically appears - "iPhone Photos". How'd he do that? I still don't know.

At any rate, I've decided I'll share a few here and there. So today I have to introduce you to Einstein. Einstein is Olita and Steve's adorable little pomeranian. I'll be honest, I wasn't much of a pomeranian fan before. That is, until I met Einstein. Then he completely won me over with his fuzzy little coat of fur and slight head tilt. (Or "cranial tilt" as Olita refers to it as.) I just want to pick him up and hug him all day. How could you not with that cute little fluff ball?

My new best friend

Meet my new best friend. I took her on my long run last weekend and she was by my side the whole time. I know she's called "Nathan Trail Mix", but I think she's more like a girl. Very dependable, fashionable (orange is the new black, don't you know?), practical, sensitive, adapts to new situations, etc.

She's almost like Mary Poppins' purse - everything you need can fit. Water, yes x2. Gu chomps, yes. Bandaids for blisters, yes. Kleenex for runny nose, yes. iPod, yes. Extra bobby pins for stray hairs that won't get out of your face, yes. Lip balm, yes. What else do you need?

Thanks for letting me borrow your best friend, Olita!

Swanky swank

Last Saturday, I went to Christina and Andy's engagement party. Let me tell you - it was swanky! It was at Andy's uncle's condo on 2nd with a perfect view of this. Simply amazing! (We all offered to housesit when they have to leave town next.) We got to dress up in pretty dresses, drink fun cocktails and eat incredibly tasty hors d'oeuvres.

(I really think we should make cocktail parties happen more often, just don't let me bartend. We all know what happens when Petes bartends and it means there is never an empty glass which in turn means that people don't feel so hot the next day.)

Without any planning, there was a theme among the GMMBers. With the exception of Andy (co-worker, not her fiance), everyone wore some shade of red with black. As seen above, Kathryn and I were opposites... and we even arrived together, so people totally thought it was planned.

Some lovely ladies: Kathryn, Christina (bride), myself and Olita

Chattin' around the tasty treats.
(I tried to make this hairdo work,
but I think it needs some adjustments for next time.)
